The Christchurch Sunrise Rotary Club, helped by the Hornby Rotary Club joined in a coordinated effort over three working bees to help build a pizza oven and butterfly sanctuary in Kahikatea Common. These two Rotary clubs rose to the challenge of organising materials and volunteers to produce a quality pizza oven and butterfly house in time for the opening of Kahikatea Common. These community structures are highlights of the 'South Frame' and provide a vital and accessible place for fun, food and reconnecting with nature. This unique public space attracts people into the shared locality and encourage further development in the area.
